What is thinking?

The Thinker

Thinking is a funny thing - we all do it but rarely do people stop to ask what thinking actually is.

When people talk about the process of thinking, they generally describe it as a logical, step-by-step process; they may even draw analogies with computers. But is human thinking really so logical? After all, if different people think about the same subject they will often draw different conclusions. Even a single person is likely to have new ideas and insights if they think something through more than once.

In this article we look at the process of thinking and conclude that it is not such an objective process after all.
